Complex patient cases across all ages—from babies to seniors
Pyhä Emergency Medicine Camp is a simulation-based training event designed for healthcare professionals. The date of the next event has not yet been decided, but once it is confirmed, you will be able to apply via this page further below.
The training is particularly suitable for healthcare professionals interested in the care of acutely ill patients, from prehospital emergency care and emergency departments to intensive care units. However, more important than your background is your experience in encountering and systematically assessing acutely ill patients. The simulations cover both out-of-hospital and in-hospital care.
The aim of the course is to understand one’s own role as part of the entire care pathway, to learn to value every team member, and to develop collaboration. The course is taught by experienced specialists, physicians, paramedics, and nurses.
The course is delivered in collaboration with FinnEM Ry.
What does the course offer you?
You will gain confidence in systematically assessing and managing patients, as well as in team leadership and decision-making. You will also develop your non-technical skills, such as teamwork and situational awareness.
The camp uses simulations, workshops, and lectures as teaching methods.
For physicians in specialty training, we will seek accreditation/credits for the course from the University of Helsinki. Credits are valid in Finnish Universitys.
Networking in nature
The training takes place in an authentic environment in the natural surroundings of Pyhätunturi. An essential part of the event is navigating and functioning in the natural environment.
In addition to the program and training, you will have the opportunity to meet new colleagues and deepen relationships with colleagues you already know.
Accommodation, meals, and activities are included in the course, so you can avoid the hassle of making arrangements.
